Hawks Nest Farm
|
Nestled in the mountains of east Tennessee, Hawks Nest Farm was named for the red shouldered hawk that nested in the yard when Dennis and Cheri moved there. It seemed a perfect omen for the future home of two master falconers with a love of horses, dogs, birds and animals of all kinds.
The farm is located next to the Cherokee National Forest and within driving distance of the the Great Smoky Mountains. The focus of Hawks Nest Farm is training and for this reason, the stallions are kept and cared for at this location.
With a lifetime of horse experience and as a third generation farrier, Dennis uses his unique ability to communicate with horses along with his knowledge of the nature of horses to quietly, gently mold them into willing partners.

Hurricane Farm
|
Hurricane Farm is located in the mountains of southwest North Carolina, along the banks of Tusquittee Creek, outside of the town of Hayesville. Our name comes from Hurricane Creek, another native trout stream which flows through our property from the surrounding Nantahala National Forest. Our small herd of American Quarter Horses and Paint Horses, mares, babies, yearlings and pets, thrive on our lush pastures typical of the Tusquittee Valley.
We started our business for the love of the breed. We maintain a small barn, so that we can give each mare and her foal individual, personalized care during gestation and during the suckling months. After weaning, our babies eventually join our yearling group, many of which come to us from our partners at Hawks Nest Farm, where our mutually owned stallions and Dartmoor Ponies reside. Because of the many advantages we have here, such as the mountain streams and trails around the property, our babies are exposed to many different experiences before they leave us.
Caring for our horses in this beautiful place is our privilege, and we believe we are as happy having them here as they are to be here. Partnering with our friends at Hawks Nest Farm has enabled both of us to provide an even higher level of care and commitment to our mutual love of the breeds.
